I sit between the wise, noble tree
And it’s trembling reflection.
Thoughts piling up inside
Spilling up, spilling over
Pouring into the silent, still stream before us.
The strong, soundless branches of nature hold high an idea.
But the winds of the world blow ripples within the words
And blur the meaning of intentions.
Poetry and Image by Magical Normal Life
Many times, reflecting on my inner self is as painful as it is forthcoming. However, viewing what is within my heart has been the most healing exercise of deep grief. Well that, and time. And I have had plenty of time. In emerging from the reflection, I often want to express what I am feeling, but the feelings cannot be accurately expressed in words and they often come out distorted and blurred. How do you express these deep seated emotions that are rooted deep within each of us? Poetry, photography, painting or sharing your story. I appreciate what each of you have brought to my life through the sharings of your inner self. Blessing to you!!

Your finale two lines are powerfully poetic Elizabeth…
“But the winds of the world blow ripples within the words
And blur the meaning of intentions.”

I have a bit of “thing” for reflections. 🙂
Your last three lines are particularly powerful and thoughtful.

Thank you so much for your thoughtful comment. I love reflections as well. I find it interesting how reflections in nature are so beautiful, but reflecting on ourselves can sometimes be so painful. Lol. Thank you again for stopping by 🙂

A great poem!

Seems to be happening every day!

Yes, it seems that our culture is forgetting to truly listen to each other. Fortunately for me, I work with young children where the possibilities for peace grow within their lives and I have the opportunity to help shape the future. Five year olds can be pretty wise! :). Thank you for your thoughtful comment.

Thank you so much!! I live in a beautiful state. Mountains to the west and prairie to the east. It feels so good to get out and enjoy nature once again. 🙂
