Painted sunset…

Breathe in the pink air,

crisp with angel’s masterful

painting of mountains ⛰

Burst of Inner Sunshine…

What if our hearts glowed

of self compassion and peace?

We could change the world!

The Journey…

Once again, the heart

yearns to journey up towards

love, peace and healing.

The Journey

Written by Mary Oliver

One day you finally knew

what you had to do, and began

though the voices around you

kept shouting

their bad advice,

though the whole house

began to tremble

and you felt the old tug

at your ankles.

“Mend my life!”

each voce cried.

But you didn’t stop.

You knew what you had to do

though the wind pried

with its stiff fingers

at the very foundations,

though their melancholy

was terrible.

It was already late

enough, and a wild night,

and the road full of fallen

branches and stones.

But little by little,

as you left their voices behind

the stars began to burn

through the sheets of clouds

and there was a new voice

which you slowly

recognized as your own,

that kept you company

as you strode deeper and deeper

into the world,

determined to do

the only thing you could do,

determined to save

the only life you could save.

Joyful Memories of Family…

This Christmas lingers,

tiptoeing softly within

my haunted heart.

Breakfast for Woodland Creatures…

The crimson berry

hangs innocent and fruitful,

ready for harvest.

Sunflower…

Cheerful petals soak

up haloed morning sunlight

with golden honey.

Stairs of Courage…

Stairs creep tiptoeing

upward past tree lined fears to

find heavenly stars.

A Trip to the Coffee Shop…

Cinnamon swirled
air mingled with sugar dusted
cake pops, sprinkled pink.

Youthful eyes taste and
grasping fingers unwrap in
Christmas-like delight.

Deep hum drum, drumming
conversations, smell mellow
against youthful cheer.

This earthly backdrop
providing tarnished silver
wisdom-filled lattes.

Yet… wonder-filled joy
oversteps wisdom, asking
for tall “sky-high” chairs

Looking down upon
low voices, scented amber,
bliss eats a cake pop.

To Step forward…

Staying in silence…

Is the invisibility cloak that protects our pain from the judgement of others.

It shields us from the pained eyes,

Shocked faces,

And closed body language…

Of those in which we share our story.

But courage tells us to share our story anyway.

Because by sharing our pain,

We allow others to understand that they are not alone.

Mom and Dad Need a Break…

Gliding together

across the lake, to the nest.

Babies need a nap. 🙂
